Just used my pump recently for some water that came into my basement and don’t know what I would’ve done without it. Helps that is pumps to a low level which is nice.

Very Nice Pump, BUT

This is a very impressive high quality pump, very heavy duty. I bought it to use as a sump pump (along with its low-level float switch accessory) because I have a very high water table and thought if I dug a hole for a traditional sump pump I would actually be letting water into the basement. This pump is a good solution. But it has one drawback I wasn't aware of when I bought it: it needs to be primed to start. Since I am not always home and cannot count on being home to prime this when it's needed, I hooked up a 3/4" discharge hose and ran it straight up the wall about 8 feet before it leaves the basement. I figure this 8 foot of head should keep the pump primed and then allow it to kick on automatically when that low level switch activates. But the jury is still out on how well this will maintain the prime.

Strong Pump That Clears Floor, Must Be Primed
By Paul B
California
Purchased 10/25/2021 |
Review Posted 03/14/2023
This is a strong pump that clears rainwater out of my garage with a very strong flow. It is probably essential to have the low-water switch to shut the pump on an off based on the water level. It needs to be primed before operation. This is a matter of adding water through the outflow, and then securing the hose before pumping. My only difficulty is that it appears that the pump must be in standing water to be primed. It doesn't appear to hold the priming water if it is sitting in a dry area-- the water runs right through it. I wish there a way to prime it in anticipation that it will need to pump in the near future. I am trying to avoid getting up in the middle of the night to prime the pump when the rainwater begins to flood our garage. Its operation would otherwise be automatic.

Excellent Product

Removes water down to vertically nothing leaving behind traces of water that are easily picked up with a small towel. Surprised with how quiet it was. Easy to use. You hook your garden hose to it to expel the water. I used it to drain our pool which was about 20,000 gallons and it took about two days. You have to prime it by adding some water to it which helps keep the motor from burning out if you get to the end of the draining and you accidentally leave it pumping but there is no water left to pump out.

So nice protective feature to help prolong the life of motor. If it stops pumping for some reason and there is still water left, check the water reservoir. It won’t pump unless there is water in there. I guess that’s another protective feature. I am very happy we spent a little extra to get this model. Well worth it.

Excellent Heavy Duty Pump For Use With A Garden Hose
By James M.
St. Charles, Illinois
Purchased 02/18/2018 |
Review Posted 03/14/2018
I bought this pump to use in a egress window well that floods occasionally because I was tired of buying $100.00 - $150.00 utility pumps that quit working after a year of two. It's a pretty substantial piece of equipment, heavy and well built. I used it at the end of February 2018 during a heavy rain/snow melt event in the Chicago area in my main sump pit with a 75 foot long 3/4" garden hose to bypass the frozen drain line that goes to the city storm sewer. Hooked up the the piggyback switch that was in the sump pit it cleared 10 to 11 gallons every 3 or 4 minutes in about 1 minute pumping 9 to 10 feet of head into a 75 foot long 3/4 inch garden hose from the back of the house to the drive way in the front. It ran like this for about 2 weeks until the main drain line thawed out enough to hook up the main sump pump again. A good solid utility pump that you can use with a garden hose and will pump down to a floor surface if you need to.

Used this pump to pump descaler through my whole house boiler from the basement up through the second floor. Worked great. Plenty of pumping power! This pump can pump upwards of 50 feet up.

The Pump To Own If You Do Not Have A Pump
By Randy
New Jersey
Review Posted 07/15/2014
I live in a 20 yr flood zone. The room that gets flooded has a ceramic tile floor. The room is bone dry unless there is a flood, so there is no reason to install a sump pit with float controlled pump, french drains, etc. The beauty of this pump is it can pump down to 1/16" and run continuously at that level. If you want to keep water in your house at the lowest level possible and do not have a sump pit, this pump is the ticket
