Pumps Well But Noisy
By John E.
Novato, California
Purchased 07/22/2021 |
Review Posted 08/14/2021
Pumps the specified amount. The unit is small and spins fast and therefore noisy, like a high pitch whine. If you are working near the pump, ear plugs are recommended. If not, then not an issue. You cannot let the pump run dry or you'll ruin the rubber spider impeller, although comes with a spare.

Small But Mighty
By Robert C.

Review Posted 10/16/2018
I needed a pump to drain my waterfall pond approximate 40 gallons. It drained all the water fairly quickly. All components are good quality. But the most valuable item that came with this pump is the suction hose filtering attachment. The attachment is purposely weighted to lie flat on the bottom surface to not only avoid debri entering the pump, but to remove every possible ounce of liquid. Exactly what I needed.

Great Little Pump

There is a place out behind my house where every rainy-season, it fills up repeatedly, and we tend to get alot of mosquitoes in standing water, but this little pump has solved my problem. It’s light weight, simple to use, durable & powerful!! This is my second one in 3-4 years, and for the price, I feel I definately have gotten my moneys’ worth. My neighbor ordered one also and he is very happy with his too. PED has better quality equip & a better price than my local Hxxe Dxxxt store. Please don’t ever stop carrying these little pumps!

These Pumps Make Rain Catchment Watering Sooo Easy!

We use the pumps to water from our rain catchment systems. We live in an area of water restrictions so this helps a lot. The pumps guarantee good water pressure out of the catchment tank.

Good But Impeller Hardens
By Robert B.
Natick, Massachusetts
Review Posted 04/15/2018
I use this pump to do the annual vinegar flush on my tankless hot water heater. Even though I flush with water when done, the impeller hardens up and the pump loses effectiveness after a year on the shelf. Fortunately, replacement parts kits w/impeller are readily available online.
What I have found helps is taking the impeller out (so the fins are not under stress) after my annual use and storing it in the box with the pump. When I reinstall a year later, it works perfectly.

Did Not Perform Well
By Christopher W.

Purchased 07/06/2017 |
Review Posted 01/29/2018
From the start, the flow was not as high as specified. Within a month, the rubber impeller had lost half of its fins and was only pumping about 50 gallons per hour. Came with a replacement part kit and that "fixed it" for another month at 120gph.

Very sorry to hear that you're having issues with your pump. This pump is designed for clear water applications, and it is not designed to pump any kind of solids present in the water. The only way that the impeller could get damages is if there are solids present in the water being pumped. Also, due to the size / power of the pump, output will be lower if you're using a longer suction/discharge hose or if you're trying to pump the water vertically. Wayne provides a 1-Year Warranty on this pump. For warranty requests, please contact Wayne directly @ (800) 237-0987.

Overall A Good Product with Two Caveats
By Dr. Michael H.

Review Posted 10/20/2017
I have used this pump once. It worked well and is relatively quiet. I am impressed with how well it is made in terms of sturdiness and fit and finish. In the future, I will use it to empty my rainwater harvesting tank and hot tub. A nice plus is that it came with a repair kit. On the other hand, it did not come with a female to female connector for those times when I just want to insert it between two garden hoses. While it is technically self priming, I read and was told that I have to put vegetable oil in both the input and output ports before each use to keep the impeller pliable. Surely they could design a better system than this. Also, I was told not to use an extension cord, even if it was the same gauge or heavier than my house wiring and even if it was only for a short distance. This is not acceptable.
