This machine has become the proverbial albatross around my backup energy system. In a nutshell, the carburetor clogged, despite my use of non-ethanol gas and running 'til the gas ran out of the carburetor. Fixed that issue only to find that the NEW 550 amp cold crank battery, does NOW not have enough cranking power to start this thing. Have to use my 1500amp master pac battery jump box to crank this thing, as the starter drains the battery in one minute!!!!!!!!! It will now only start with starter fluid spray!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This generator does not charge the battery while running, so a trickle charger is required to keep the battery charged, which I found out is useless since a few cranks of the electric start drains the battery!!!!!!!!!! I have to change my recommendation to a BIG "DO NOT BUY"!!!!

Ordered on 3/29/23 and received on 4/10. Upon delivery I immediately cut open the box and inspected for damage. None observed. The driver, from R&L Carriers, even helped me slide this puppy onto my Gorilla cart from the lift gate. Once I added non-ethanol gas and filled with oil, I connected the battery, turned on the gas cock, pressed run to "on" and pushed the start button. Took a few tries but started easily and the Honda 390 engine purred. Let it run for 5 minutes, then I had to do a quick test to see if it ran my whole house.
Hooked this up to the house, turned off the main breaker along with all the others and started it up. Then, I started to turn on the breakers I knew I'd need if the power ever failed. These included: 40 gallon water heater, washing machine, dryer, 3 computers, 65 inch tv plus 750 watt surround sound amp, 2 fridges and 2 upright freezers, 3 ceiling fans and a dozen led lights in the house and one 5000 btu room ac for which I ran for about 2 minutes. I only ran the dryer for a minute and the same for the washer. I did not run these at the same time. This generator handled them perfectly. After 10 minutes, I stopped the test.
I was really pleased with how this worked and with the peace of mind I'll have with backup power if the grid goes down. I only use non-ethanol gas, as ethanol contains water that can corrode the carb along with other parts. Besides, if ethanol gas sits too long, the water will separate out and sink, meaning that water will be the 1st thing through the hose when ya try to start it.
The shipping company R&L was great. They provided me with a shipping number and the driver helped me load it onto my cart. All in all, this was a great experience. Electric Generators Direct was great to order from and they had the cheapest price, which included delivery and lift gate service. This generator weighs 190lbs and produces 7500 surge watts and 6720 running watts, which should be more than enough power to run most homes. You can easily hook this up to your home using a Home Generator Interlock Kit.
