Perfect Choice For Our Stone Patio!
By Leta W.

Review Posted 11/18/2020
The snowblower/brush worked perfectly on our large stone patio, and was easily able to handle the snow loads that we receive in MT throughout the winter. It is easy to handle, and the directional blower is simple to shift. Sure beats shoveling!

I like this power sweeper! We bought it because we have a lot of chickens, & we need to sweep our long driveway. We looked at handheld models & saw some costing three or four times the price of the Yardmax. Best features are it being self-propelled, & being able to angle the sweeper from side to side. It even started on the first pull!
The biggest negative was the assembly. It comes with 24" of sweeper brushes attached. Then you have to attach an extra brush on each side, along with the extra cover extensions. At first, I thought there was a 24" model, & this was the kit to make it 28" wide. But there is no 24" model. I just couldn't figure out why it wasn't shipped with all the brushes installed. The brushes weren't very easy to install. I felt like I needed two extra hands to hold & line everything up. Eventually, I attached everything & it works great.
We made a video of our assembly experience, available here: https://youtu.be/PEqpHASxBK4
We also made a video of our first operation of the Power Sweeper, available here: https://youtu.be/tGg54pzCZX8
Overall, we are very pleased with the unit, & we recommend it to others.

.25 mile long paved driveway - it is a hill for 90% of the length. This sweeper cleans down to the pavement. Full stop. Hence no more ice and I can get out of my property now. The next sweeper up is in the thousands - so this was a reachable pricepoint too.
Works on slush too, and heavy wet snow up to about 4-6 inches. More than that - plow or snow blow first.
NOTE - Mine had a defective part when it came - I contacted Yardmax at night - next morning my phone rang from their tech - he Fedex'd a new part to me = 3 days later - I had it and they walked me thru the replacement - and I was back in business.

My assistant was not impressed when I got the power brush he told me your money was wasted until he tried the brush all around and in the snow, the little machine just shut him up. Now it's his favorite toy.

Fantastic Power Broom

I use my power broom to lift dog hair from my 100+ dogs a day out of my 8,000 square foot artificial turf dog daycare yard. It refreshes the grass by aerating after we have flushed the yard with cleaners and lifts any matted down hair out of the artificial thatch. I do wish I could get an attachment that had squeegees for bristles but the brushes do a great job at this point. I would love to have solid "no flat " tires for my power broom but love it the way it works now as well.

The manufacturer claims that this unit is all-season, it is not. The trans-axel is grease filled and in the winter, if the unit is kept in a non-heated area, it makes for very hard starting and movement. I have solved this problem for my customers. I remove and wash out the grease and fill the trans-axel with 90W-140 oil and this problem goes away.

First Impression: Have Not Pressed Unit Into Service Yet

Recently purchased: I wanted to fire up the unit but I was worried that if I added gas now it would go stale by winter. So I used a little ethanol-free fuel. The sweeper started with one pull, ran VERY quiet and, though I only used it for a short time, worked great! So far I'm very happy. I will try to review again when I use it with snow.

It Could Be Better

Be careful with this machine if it's like mine. When I release (especially the reverse lever), it continues for a few seconds. Almost pinned me to my garage. Doesn't do it as often in forward. On grass, in forward gear, it sometimes bucks in reverse unexpectedly. Hard on your wrist. Maybe it does better in the snow.
