The YardMax YU2566 log splitter has all the features you would want in a splitter, and they are all standard! The YU2566 comes with a 7" 2-way splitting wedge, adjustable log cradles, a jack stand, a 2" trailer ball hitch and 16" D.O.T. approved road tires. It even comes filled with hydraulic fluid.

This unit can be used in the horizontal or vertical position and will split logs up to 26" in length. The 4" hydraulic cylinder has a 9.7-second cycle time and is powered by a 2-stage 14 GPM oversized pump. The engine is a Briggs and Stratton 208cc 4-cycle with low oil shut-down and recoil start.

Unique to YardMax is a spinner end plate that rotates the logs slightly to put less stress on the beam and make for an easier split. Also unique to YardMax is the U-beam construction of their main beam, which is significantly stronger than I-beam designs.

A work table is available in 24" and 34" sizes as an option.

This splitter is great 25 ton does great for big fir rounds will split oak and madrone too.
The machine rattles a little when there is no wood on it probably the little spinny thing where the log rests.
Get some spare spark plug and you will be good.
Had the machine for 4 months and split about 4 cords so far so good.

Leaking hydraulic hoses on the first start, is the biggest problem. Another included paint down to metal I’m guessing during shipment.

The delivery was fine. However, when I opened the crate, there were numerous scratches on the log splitter which is OK because it could be painted over the second issue is the first time I used it. I have a hydraulic fluid coming out of two places I should’ve known something was wrong when I checked the hydraulic fluid, and it appeared to be low indicating a leakage. I have yet to receive any help regarding this issue yet.

I got tired of waiting for help to assemble so I attempted it myself. I have to second your two strong men warning. I just got the stitches out and still don’t have help, but will wait ‘til’ I get it this time. I haven’t used it yet, but unless it doesn’t live up to its looks, it is going to be great. I don’t see anything that I don’t like. I was impressed by the guy that delivered it and loaded it onto my trailer. He did a great job and was very helpful. I was also impressed by the pallet that was built around it. It was quite a mechanical engineering job. I am sure that I will enjoy using the splitter. The price was great and as soon as I get it together, I am planning on working it to death. I have three trees down in my front yard now.

I received my log splitter on a Thursday morning didn't get a chance to put it together until the afternoon.
I assembled it by myself with my engine hoist. There is no way I could have done it without a way to lift it.
2 guys can put it together, I say they better be two strong guys!
Even working by myself I was able to get it put together in about 2 1/2 hours. I haven't had a chance to use it other than to start it up and make sure everything worked. I had no issues and no leaks. So far we have had rain here and I'm looking forward to putting it to work.

I,ve recieved and put together the splitter not a bad chore just a lot of bodies to lift and hold. fired it up and split a few pieces of wood only to notice hydrolic fluid on the ground. I called support and told the the control valve is squirting fluid all over. they stated they would replace the controll valve, but i have no e-mail or coresponece confirming this action. lets see how it goes.

Good Machine...Poor Contracted Carrier

First time purchase from PED. Machine functions well. I've split about a half cord of wood, mostly ash, with no issues. Engine runs fine. Hydraulics operate well. Vertical splitting a nice feature when dealing with large diameter rounds.
PED contracted carrier and PED customer service was a Charlie Foxtrot. I made the extra effort to call the carrier and request change to delivery date one day later as I would not be available on their scheduled delivery date. Sure enough, machine was delivered one day early in my absence. Machine was placed in wrong location and crate was damaged. Carrier & PED pointed their finger at one another and neither wanted to solve the problem.
Would I purchase this machine again or recommend to others? Yes.
Would I do business with PED or their contracted carrier again? Nope!
