DO NOT BUY - Product Fails Quickly And Customer Service Is Poor
By Douglas O.
GLENVIEW, Illinois
Review Posted 10/25/2021
Similar to other reviews, I have had TWO ION level switches fail very quickly. The cust. service rep said that depending on service they last 1-5 years. This seems inconsistent with a 3 year warranty. They replaced one of mine (after 2 years of service), but refuse to replace the second . My application is in a basement sewage pit (from a toilet). There is NO WAY i would have allowed my contractor to install this product, in this application if I knew I would have to change it out every few years.

This switch is garbage. The Ion+ piggy-back plug keeps burning out. This was the third unit that the supplier sent out and it lasted a total of 21 days

Very sorry to hear you're having problems with your controller. Based on what you stated about this being third time this has happened, it may be the application/pump that's causing the issue. This switch is rated for pumps 15A max.

This Is Not A Stand Alone Alarm
By Dave C.
MOUNT PROSPECT, Illinois

Review Posted 04/07/2020
I thought i was buying a stand alone alarm, but it actually needs a pump plugged into it to work with out false alarms. I was able to plug my pump into it, but if your pump had an integral float, this alarm may not work for you

Installation Instructions Need To Be Revised
By Charles C.
Batavia, Illinois
Purchased 10/08/2019 |
Review Posted 10/29/2019
The float needs to be placed deep in the sump in order for the required 6” of water to be over the top of of float. If less than 6” of water then float switch will not activate pump. Instructions need to be updated to specifically address the water level requirement. Discussed this issue with Ion technical support.

Operational Info Inadequate

One reason I selected this switch is for the remote alarm connection. However there is no "connection" or technical information supplied by manufacturer on this feature. Furthermore, the manual/technical specifications does not give full description of the alarm features. Email inquiry to manufacturer has received NO RESPONSE.

There should be an "RJ11" port on the side of the controller. The product image has been updated to provide an angle view of the controller which shows the "RJ11" port. If your controller does not have the port, please give us a call @ (888) 455-4682 or send us an email service@sumppumpsdirect.com

I received the product with in days of ordering, I tested the unit in a garbage can using a fan as the consumer to the switch. It worked great on my test then I prepared it for the sewage unit, installed it, tested it there a few times and then put everything back together. My old swing type switch failed and the basement flooded, with this unit I have and alarm if the pump fails or the water level raises too high. All these great features with no moving parts that can get hung up and fail. This is a great design and should give years of great service.
