I just wanted to update a review I made over 2 years ago. The ion pump and inverter have been working great. No negative issues. I also wanted to add, after re-reading my previous review, I had made a mistake in regards to the 'load' gauge. It works as it should.

So Far So Good

As with any product, it takes a while to see if it lasts. I bought the ION 30aci+ because I thought it was a quality product and wanted a pump that runs on AC and DC power. After a couple months it's performed perfectly well. I like the electronic activation switch and being able to adjust it by moving the switch higher or lower on the discharge pipe. I've also setup my system using two 6V golf cart batteries wired in series for over 200 amp hours of battery reserve. I'm hoping this will be sufficient for any power outages. It's very quiet too. Probably one of the quietest sump pumps I ever used.
The only negatives I see are the sort of silly readouts on the inverter when it's running. If you unplug the inverter the reading on the gauge immediately starts to drop incrementally showing lower battery percent charge even though, when checked with a meter, the battery is fully charged. I believe the inverter gauge is including the float voltage as being fully charged (13.8v) rather than the actual full battery voltage of 12.8. Not a big deal, but I don't believe the gauge on the inverter is accurate. Also, I've never seen the 'load' gauge move from zero on or off battery power. Not even sure why it's there.

Expert Response
Please keep in mind that you're not using the correct type of battery for this system, which is most likely the reason you're getting silly readouts when the inverter is running. Clearly stated in the owner's manual, this unit is designed to be used with a UL recognized deep cycle marine battery. Please keep in mind that if there ever was an issue with the system and warranty work was requested, it may not be honored by the manufacturer
