.....one of the three hoses I ordered sprung a small leak after 6 hours of operation, apparently due to a flaw in the inner liner material. After some finger pointing back and forth between Water Pumps Direct and Abbott, the hose assembly manufacturer, as to who was responsible for this warranty claim, Water Pumps Direct stepped to the plate and replaced the hose assembly. As Mechanical Engineer and Quality Control for a major automotive OEM, I can tell you that even the very best materials and processes, will eventually face failures in the final product, what we used to call "fliers". What matters is how the OEM (in this case, Water Pumps Direct & Abbott), accepted responsibility, showing their faith in the product and the happiness of their customer. I am using these hoses (150 ft. total) to pump water from my pond to a food plot for deer. Since the defective hose was replaced, my system has worked perfectly.

Nothing at all wrong with the quality of this hose, but it's not suitable other than in a fairly straight line. I bought it to use with a submersible utility pump and the hose just bends over at the outlet, stopping water flow. It will also only work well when fully extended, water will not flow well (if at all) if the hose is coiled or even moderately bent. It isn't suitable for pumping out a basement if you need to run the hose out a window. I've since purchased a more appropriate hose (not lay flat), but I really wish I knew this before I purchased!

I have a smaller size semi-trash pump that still kicks out the water like a fire truck. The hose was properly "manufactured" and was easy to install and use - no fooling around with poorly manufactured couplings or leaks. This hose held up to the pressure and was easy to move around.
