Great Machine
By Michael Y.

Purchased 02/28/2023 |
Review Posted 03/27/2023
Blew out the gear case in my 40 year old Ariens 8hp. It was a great machine that served me well. Ordered the new 30” EFI and it was like magic. I used the electric starter for the initial start up but you just don’t need it with this machine. One easy pull and it’s running. This thing ate through 4-5 feet of packed icy snow and threw it at least 50 feet.we have had record snowfall in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and I am very happy with this machine. More snow on the way and I can’t wait to see how it works on fresh snow. Thanks PED for great service and fast delivery.

My Awesome New Ariens
By Frank

So far I've only used it once because we have only had 8 inches of snow here on Long Island NY so far in 2022. But this thing is a Cadillac and a beast all in one. It throws the snow very far and even though it's big, it's very easy to move around. My son said "it's balanced really well". I went out the next day to do some "cleanup" snow blowing and even though the snow pack had turned to ice, it was no match for this machine. The only issue I had was when I first assembled it and tried to start it, it wouldn't start. After going crazy for about 10 minutes I found that a wiring harness in an area under the light was not connected. I guess the factory inspection missed it. After I plugged the harness together it started on the first pull. (And I'm not referring to the battery harness which also needs to be connected). The heated handles are great also. I ordered this thing in August 2021 and just got it in Jan 2022 but it was worth the long wait.

Works Great On Packed Dirt Driveway
By Denn B.

Purchased 12/02/2019 |
Review Posted 10/27/2020
I am very happy with this. I live in Helena, MT, and had very little snow last year after I bought it. So, I put in the garage in December and did not use it for 10 months. It started on the second easy pull (love that EFI). It ran on our packed driveway with 8" of snow, and it performed wonderfully. It cleared a 300' driveway in 20 minutes. NOTE: I tried it on loose gravel and I don't recommend it. The gravel comes up with the snow and grinds through the shoot. The speed range is about what you want for long straight paths and can slow for more turns. One thing I wish it had is a clamp for the "run" grip handle. My wrist gets tired of holding the run safety down. Happy, and I would buy it again.

A Standout Machine In A Crowded Market Of Snow Blowers
By Frank W.
Bethlehem, New Hampshire
Purchased 01/13/2020 |
Review Posted 01/22/2020

I love this machine. I have used Ariens machines for thirty years, and this one is heads above all others. My twenty-year-old ST824 is still running and will now retire. My positive reactions would not be possible without PED's Customer Service (perhaps he was a Tech Rep, not sure) Ed Rosenwinkel's help. There were only two negatives.
The assembly instructions were just plain awful. Too little detail, no verbiage, several incorrect drawings, and the pictures showing the how-to steps were super confusing. I was exasperated by trying to depict several model numbers on the same page. So, Ed rescued the day as he talked me through the setup. I got hung up on mounting the chute, as Ariens had shipped the shoes hanging off the frame, so things just did not look right. I was assembling the unit in my garage, so it was a challenge from that perspective too. The headlight is basically useless. I am not the first customer to report this.
Now, onto the positives. I love the EFI, it starts with one pull, sips gas, has clean-burning, the RPM's are easily modulated, it reacts quickly to extra power demand, and it's quieter. I love the power, it's especially impressive cutting through old heavily-packed snow, which slides off my metal roof. I live in ski country. We routinely get fifteen inches of "flurries" in/around actual storms.
I also love the impeller speed/torque. It throws the snow an astounding distance, which allows me to make fewer passes where I need to change directions. I appreciate the wheels and tires. The sixteen-inch knobs hardly need chains. Although, I mounted some anyways as it gets icy here. I also appreciate the turning radius. It has like no radius, just point the machine and it pivots immediately.

So Far So Good

It starts on one pull every time. It turns and steers easy. I misunderstood the electric start, not a battery key start. It needs an extension cord to the machine. But due to the easy pull start, electric start not needed. I have not given it a full snow test yet. My old snow blower died during our early Thanksgiving 3' snow. May get broken in Xmas week, 6"-12" expected. Big Bear City, CA. Love the EFI, great to not have carb issues. Some assembly required, but not that bad. If I had to assemble another it would be faster/easier after doing one prior, it runs much quieter than my previous machine, I still wear ear protection, (I like my hearing) but really could probably not use any and be ok.

Fun To Snow Blow Because It Works!

I am not an experienced snow blower! And have shoveled for 17 years. We found ourselves in need a snowblower due to a move of a larger driveway. This is great, works and moves easily and easily maneuver even for a girl! Totally delighted and looking forward to snow blowing tomorrow! Have not used yet in anything more than 4 inches. Will update.

Used the Ariens with EFI during our last two major snowfalls (15" & 22") and it is the best machine I have ever used. Never bogged down and cut a clean swath. Easy to handle, starts with one pull and extremely quiet. Not a gas guzzler and easy to turn. Cleaned out the end of the drive where the town left three-foot ice mounds. Truly a great snow blower.

Easily put together, incredibly easy to start, quality construction, moves snow quickly and with ease. Love the steering assist.
The one and only complaint I have would be the headlight needs to be update to something more powerful.
