Bought this new at Home Depot in 2007 I believe. When not doing the driveway at my house (about 100ft. long) I was using it to clean off my rink that I made for the kids on the lake. There was snow on it almost daily from the wind blowing it in. Other than routine maintenance and a few shear bolts. I've had no issues with it. I've had it 17 years now and while I've moved to a house with no lake and a smaller driveway. This machine is still going strong. I know they are discontinued now but if a used one comes your way....buy it, you won't regret it.

I bought this model 927LE back in 08 or 09 and now in 2024 it still runs as strong as it did 15 yrs ago, still the original belts, plug, and it starts 1st or 2snd pull every time, only rust on it is in the chute and the only problems I had was some fasteners loosen up over the years, my dad has the 24" for almost as long and his is just as reliable, Cannot go wrong with an Ariens product.

I purchased my Ariens 927LE 6 years ago and still looks brand new and this December was the first time I used it in a while. I noticed that the left wheel was not activating, only the right, so the blower wants to go in circles. I went on Ariens website, but it has been down since April. How can u find out whats causing this? Where is there a dealer who repairs them? I had it apart but could not identify any issues as the belts are all okay. Went on Youtube, but was no help. Has anyone had same problem?

Expert Response
We have discontinued this model of blower, but here is an Ariens service center located very close to where you live. It seems as though it should be a minor fix, and would advise getting it checked out before the next big snow!

I purchased this snow blower in 2008 and never had any problems. Last night was the big test for this beast! We had about 15cm of snow then rain for the afternoon and evening, when I got home around 8pm, the lane way was almost all turned into slush but still pretty consistent and had a huge snow bank at the end of my laneway because of the snow-plow.
I first tried to shovel it, but oh man, one scoop weighed like 20 pounds! Tried my 927LE Ariens, no problem!! It was throwing slush like it was nothing, not as far but it was better than breaking my back. I couldn't believe it!
I recommend this snow blower 100% I have the L-head Tecumseh 318cc on it. I did my oil change after each season with gas stabilizer.

Worked great the first year

Purchased this machine in Jan. 2009. Worked great the first year. I have always used fuel stabilizer and premium gas. This machine has always been stored in my garage.
I have problem this year keeping the machine running. It seems to run fine for about 2-3 minutes then starts to rev up and down, backfires and then stalls. I had the carburetor cleaned but it still does this although runs slightly longer before stalling.
Not sure if others are experiencing the same problems I am but thought you should be informed before making a decision.

I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with Kriss Schrader. Last week I came in to look at snow blowers, Kriss assisted me. He took the time to explain differences between models. I was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism.
When I inquired about the Ariens 27 LE that was outside, he explained the issues with the unit. I asked if it was for sale, Kriss went above and beyond the ‘call of duty’ to allow me to purchase it. When I came to pick it up, he had it all ready to go, including the manuals etc. I also want to thank you and rest of your staff.
While I was there I also spoke with Todd, the mower guy. I’ll be seeing you this spring for a new mower. Also, I got it going, the wheel lock lever/ratchet was binding/misaligned, and the key in the left wheel was missing.
The weather man says snow Tuesday, "WooHoo!!" I get a chance to try out my new BEAST! PED Rocks.

Yeah, the video in the comment below is mine and I was surprised to see it here.
The Ariens is a superb machine and has been one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. It is very well built and I am glad I didn't go cheap and buy some junker.
The Ariens is built to last and where I live I need it to work right every time. Hope everyone has a snowy season and a good snow year!
Oh- and if you watch the video, turn down the sound, it gets sorta crazy. It becomes a pretty boring video unless you enjoy snow blowing, but it was a blast to make and I did not have one single problem whatsoever with my 927LE.
Enjoy!

This 927LE Ariens snowthrower is my first serious snow maintainance purchase. It is performing superbly.
How the governor works to add throttle when biting through 2 to 3 foot drifts is beyond me, but it chews it up and spits it out.
I must take great care to make sure children do not stand in the direction of the chute action. Heavy snow throws at least 15-20 feet, dryer and more common snow throws 40-55 feet, no joke.
I had the wife take pictures the first time I used it. I have used it roughly 30 to 40 times for anywhere from half an hour for a couple of inches of snow in high gear, to 3 hours after heavy snow storms.
The 08-09 winter was a record 80-some inches of snow and this recent Blizzard Allison gave me 15 inches of snow with 2 to 3 foot drifts. Even though I have to use low speed, this orange machine with a steel chute does not stop.
You want steel since the severe cold can make plastic too brittle. I am so glad this puppy is mine as I have a 450 foot driveway and detail work near the garage.
I do not want to store or pay for an ATV or garden tractor that plows walls of snow around the drive way. The neighbor switched to a snow blower attachement for his tractor, and now I know why.
Blow the snow if you can; walls of snow will freeze and then you cannot push the snow any further so you end up working backwards (unless you have dynamite).
If you buy this machine, enjoy. This company in Brillion is 20 miles from my home and built ammo carts for soldiers in WWII- check it out.

20 years and going strong

I have owned an Ariens snow blower for over 20 years.
As I received it from my father-in-law I am not sure of the exact age, but know it still runs without any issues.
I believe this is one of the best made snow blowers on the market today. You cannot go wrong with an Ariens.
One of the better features is the electric start, as pulling the recoil start 20 years later does get harder to do every year.
