I started out ordering parts from Sears Direct and discovered Power Equipment Direct. Parts alone with shipping totaled $427.00. With delivery 7 to 10 days away. I ordered my motor on Tuesday (AM) and it was delivered on Thursday (PM). Repairing an 11-year-old motor was a gamble. I decided on the brand new motor that took 1-1/4 hrs to install and I was cutting grass. Great deal.

My friend blew his engine, it was actually a 17.5 HP and I talked him into this one as it had slightly more power as well as an oil filter and pressurized lubrication as opposed to a sling. It was pretty much a direct replacement with the exception of the wiring. I unplugged the old wiring and found the plug for the start circuit, I had to rewire the charging circuit. I asked for a wiring diagram and the one they sent was actually not the one that was on the engine.

This is a direct replacement engine for a Craftsman LT1000 yard tractor. The mounting holes are not threaded so I picked up some grade 8 bolts washers and nuts with nylon inserts and had it on the tractor in 15min ready to go. Make sure to put oil in it, you can use SAE30.

I sincerely hope that this review is read not only by PED staff but customers and potential customers as well.
I am a landscaper. Motor blew on an Ariens walk behind mower- a machine I need to use 2-3 days a week. PED customer service was knowledgeable enough to match a replacement motor that would easily replace the motor that was on my machine- the guy even suggested upgrading to a motor with an oil pump vs. the splash motor the older one was running to prevent wear on the engine while mowing inclines.
Anyway, the price for the Intek 19hp I’d say was average. I had hoped to spend a little less but the motor came sooner than was expected and the wiring harnesses matched what was on my machine, sizing of the shaft and everything was spot on. I swapped the engines in only a couple hours, just had a hard time getting the pulley off the old engine (as expected). The motor fired right up and charging system is functional and so on. Was very pleased with how the replacement engine fit the machine with ease. The upgrade in horsepower was most definitely noticeable right off the bat. I had a huge field to mow and could tell the new engine was up to task vs. the old one. Thank you all very much!

The engine arrived quickly and in good condition. The transaction with PED was easy, and no issues. Great people to do business with and recommend to others.
The engine was in perfect condition, bolted up, and cranked quickly. I mounted the 19 HP engine on an older rear engine rider, replacing a smaller 12 HP. A few minor changes were needed since the engine is physically larger than the older 12 but works well. The engine bolt pattern, shaft size for both engines are the same. The wiring harness was different, with many extras, so had to search the internet for wiring details. Would have been nice to have an easy color-coded wiring description. Great power now, on my Snapper rider. No one should put the recommended 10 HP replacement on the Snapper with this option.
