37 Ton Champion Wood Splitter
By Don V.

Review Posted 12/02/2020

I used the new splitter on two trees I cut down, and this splitter is a beast. I kept it at half throttle and it never bogged down at all. If the chunk of would was not going to split nicely, this splitter would cut right through the wood.
If the splitter blade got stuck in the wood the return cycle had two steel bars that would knock it off.
It's a very well designed splitter, I can’t say enough about how nice this splitter works. Great job designing this splitter. It's an excellent splitter.

37 Ton Champion Review

We have probably got at least 15-20 hrs on the machine now. I always like to write my review after I have spent quite a few hrs working with it. This machine starts first pull every time, splits with ease, and definitely moves down the beam faster than any of the other splitters I have used in the past. I have noticed the detents does not always cycle back and that could be as easy as an adjustment that I will have to refer back to owners manual for. The only two things that I could find with this unit to make it obsolete is the log catcher being singular. I really like it being on there, its definitely helpful. I would like to see it just a little bigger at least on one side. The second thing is the throttle on the engine. It works great as it should with no problems, I just feel like there should be a slot or slide at the top of the throttle to keep it from twisting and breaking in years of use. In all, this is a great machine and I really enjoy using it. I definitely recommend this machine.

This product is well worth the little extra money! Put together in under 2 hours with one person. i was shorted the tire fenders on my purchase but it sounds like other people have the same issue. Splits anything i have thrown at it so far. It needs to have a 4-way wedge option with it also. would have enough power to easily use the 4-way wedge

I received my 37 ton log splitter with in 2 days of ordering it. I put it together myself. One man job. I put 5gals of hydro fluid in it. Filled the motor with 1qt of oil. And put some gas in it. It started in two pulls. Ran it on half throttle for first 30 mins and split about half a face cord. It split a 24" round, wet red oak log like it was cutting butter. I was very impressed. I can't wait split more.

I have to admit, I chose this one partially based on her looks. And yes, she is as pretty in person as she is on paper.
Ordering went ok. There was some missed communication as a result of some letters in my email address not getting understood properly. That's the risk you run on the telephone. But, the splitter was shipped and on it's way even before some of the details were worked out. My shipping and billing address are not the same. This always needs to be straightened out when I order things. But, it never even came up on this order. They were more interested in getting me my splitter than hammering down all the infinite details.
I have been using wood splitters since the late 70's and have used many different brands and they all seem to have one design flaw or other that might not be there if the person doing the designing actually used them. From the pictures this one looks like, and is as expected. the oil reservoir is the axel, and the motor is mounted sufficiently down towards the axel so as to keep the wait off the hitch ball. This makes it easier to maneuver around with out connecting it to a vehicle.
The foot that the wedge pushes against is not so thick that the wood rounds have to be lifted and held in place while splitting in the vertical position. One big difference about the Champion that I have not seen in other splitters and I am unsure how it will effect operation. Is how the wedge attaches to the beam. In all other splitters I have used the wedge is mounted on a plate with grooves that ride down the edges of the beam. In this case, the beam has channels/tracts that the wedge/plate rides down the beam. It will take some use to see if this is good design or not.
The splitter came out of the box and went together in about 2 hours, 2 friends and a six pack. I made sure to have the oils(s) on hand so we could start it up. It started on the firs pull. I have yet to split wood with it.

Super easy to put together. Takes 2 people. This beast will split 24" tall, 4ft wide green oak logs with ease. Great quality. Easy to go from upright to the horizontal position. Starts very easily. Put it on half choke and half throttle. Very happy with my purchase.
