This mower is very powerful. I researched and read reviews before deciding on this particular mower. Transitioning from a John Deere la130 - it's a leap forward for sure. The turning radius is award-winning, circle around trees with 1 pass. Mowers Direct had it in my driveway 6 days after the purchase after my local dealer told me 8-10 weeks.

I did a lot of research and listened to my friend who sells John Deere tractors. Because of my hilly property and wanting to pull a utility cart, I needed a garden tractor with a beefy locking differential, and the 500 series Deere was nearly $7k. That led me right to the Cub Cadet XT2 GX54 D with the TK-62 differential. Before scoring the first seven running hours, I moved 8 tons of stone up a large hill and built a pathway on what used to be a drainage gully. In the meantime, the grass was growing fast, and no issues navigating the hills with the huge mower deck.

The seat switch is way too sensitive and shuts the mower down when leaning into a hill. Let’s just say that issue was resolved in five minutes. The locking differential is really handy and much needed and this tractor will absolutely climb the hills, so mow safely. The fit and finish on this tractor are exceptional. It was ordered late on a Monday and delivered to the bottom of the driveway by a friendly helpful driver with zero hassle by Friday. The crate material made for a great fire at the pit the same day. Install the bumper with two pins, hook up the battery leads, put In some gas and it started right away. No issues with ordering, delivering, or working with this tractor. I highly recommend it.

Bad first:
The mower does not start without help in the form of manually removing the hood and playing with the choke. I've tried on quite a few attempts to start it without doing this with no success. The issue could have easily been corrected if there was a separate choke lever. I have contacted Cub Cadet tech services and they were not able to help.

Good:
The overall build seems to be quite good. It cuts well and consistent. I am expecting this tractor to perform well going forward.

Hi! When I took the wrapper off this Baby, it felt like Christmas... Feel Like I have the Cadillac of Garden Tractors with this Cub Cadet.
Already had oil, added the gasoline... just need to attach the bumper... everything else was ready to go.. she started right up and off we went to the barn.. it was getting late in the day, but first impression-can't stop smiling.. she purrs like a kitten...

I've had this tractor a few weeks now and no complaints. I bought this particular model because it has a commercial grade transmission that can be serviced. The tractor features plenty of power, comfortable seat, and easy steering. I have 3 acres to mow with some hills and treed areas and this tractor climbs the hills with power to spare. The tractor has a smooth, tight turning radius that is practically zero-turn, which is nice around the trees. I've fertilized with a 130 lb tow spreader, again, with power to spare. I also bought the mulch kit which seems to work well, although I am adding a bagger system as well.

The one complaint I have is not with the tractor but with the way the tractor was packaged for delivery. The tractor was situated on a pallet that was too small for the tractor. Thus only the back wheels were actually on the pallet. Because the base (pallet) was not supporting the weight of the tractor, the crate around the tractor was in splinters, held together by the plastic wrapping and a few strings. I have no idea how the tractor or mower deck were not damaged - however, they seem to be fine. The tractor was delivered by Old Dominion trucking. I do not know if OD is responsible for crating or if Mowers Direct / PED, but it makes no sense to ship a $5k + tractor in a substandard crate. Asking for trouble. Luckily, my tractor survived, somehow, unscathed. If MD can master the shipping end of their service, they will be a really good company to buy from.

Very powerful machine. With this, went from big box hardware store machine (low duty, entry level) to this machine and now have a much better understanding of paying for what you get. Great features (tight turn radius, electric blade engagement, locking diff). Much less jarring on the old body on rough terrain.

I love my Cub Cadet, this tractor drives like a car. The cut radius has tremendously cut my time cutting the yard. I have a few other tasks that I will have to see how it performs, but they aren't until fall prepping for the winter.
