Cub Cadet 24A-424M710 Reviews & Ratings
I read all the reviews.

Review Posted 05/01/2015
So as a educated consumer I have done all my research and read all the reviews. At first I was very skeptical on buying the Cub Cadet CS3310 chipper/shredder worried about font being able to start or restart this machine. While it is not as easy to start as push lawnmower, it is not entirely very difficult, just need to make sure the choke is always on when starting and make a full solid pull. As far as the restarting issues after it was hot.
I ran mine for 15 mins, emptied the collection bag, and started right up, with no issues. The 2nd time I ran it for over 30 mins and it once again restarted with no issues (I guess I got one that was built on a Wed). The only thing that the shredder didn't like too much was the aluminum can that was in a pile of leaves that I was unaware of. Overall I am extremely impressed with this product. If I had to complain of something it would have to be the collection bag strap system, oh and it would have been nice to have a grab handle on the bag to drag it when full.

Two of the flail arms broke and threw the machine into a spin. It can't be used until it gets fixed.

I found out why this unit starts so hard and many cases would not start . THE STARTING PULL CORD IS TOO LONG, SHORTEN THE CORD ABOUT A FOOT AND A HALF AND IT WILL START EVERYTIME.

Clogs easily, hard to start

Purchased for 2 acre cleanup. Mostly leaves and pricker vines, nothing more than 1", at most. Clogs with leaves, and the opening at the bottom of the hopper and the chute is small and angled so if you are feeding it with any soft, bendy plant products (like pricker vines) it simply clogs and won't feed. It clogged on leaves, so I stopped it, and *SAFELY* cleared it. So I thought. The hopper is still jammed with leaves (where you can't see them) and, since when you pull the cord you are turning the internal implements, I can not get it to restart. I am an average homeowner with yard waste, mostly leaves and small branches to clear. This is *NOT* a product I would recommend. Pay more, get the larger commercial version and avoid the headache, or pay someone to bring a chipper in and do it for you. I spent more time being ripped up by pricker bushes trying to load the chipper than I did cutting them down.

It will wear you out

It starts first time and never quits. It will do the job which it was intended to be designed for. It is not for the professional. It is just for home owner with small jobs. Remember up to 3 inches and fairly straight to get through the hopper. Just let the machine take what it wants and don't force it . It will do the job and wear you out before the gas runs out. LOL

I bought this model cs 3310 in Dec 19 2013 and I haven't had the privilege to use it yet because I can not start it. I took it to the dealer and he said there is nothing wrong with it. He can start it, but I can't. I tried while I was at the dealers and I could not start it, but he could. We have come to the conclusion that you have to be very strong to pull the starting cord to get it started . I can't take it back because it is over thirty days. So if you are not a very strong person this is not for you. My opinion is that this unit should have a electric starter installed on it, but I guess that will fall on deaf ears...

We bought the 3310 at Tractor Supply it was assembled and pre-serviced. It started on the 1st pull and has ran excellent. When it says 3 inch they mean not a bit larger. I would recommend this for a great addition to you home clean up needs, we use it often.

My neighbor bought this chipper and works great after you get it started. VERY HARD to pull cord to start. I'm 250 lbs and can only do 3 pulls. Neighbor who bought it only can pull 2 times. Must always be in full choke position to get it to fire and start. After shutting down and hot, MUST ALWAYS go to full choke and after 2 pulls if it doesn't fire then must wait for it to cool down.

The ordering and delivery process was great. Unfortunately the day the chipper arrived we put the gas and oil in per instructions run one branch threw and the the motor blew. Found a Briggs and Stratton Dealer to cover the warranty, delivered them the chipper the next day and its been 3 weeks and still no chipper.
