Good, But...

I needed a small, portable pump in order to easily transfer water from hydroponic grow buckets. And this little pump does that job quite well. I have owned it for a few months now, and use it at least one day per week.
However, there is an issue that annoys me greatly. This pump is NOT self priming. Every time that I use it, I have to pour mineral oil into the intake. This makes the pump both more difficult to use, as well as more messy. On top of that, the instructions are to pour 1/2 TBSP (7.5 ml) of oil into the unit. I have syringes that allow me to measure the oil exactly, but 7.5 ml doesn't actually fit into the space.
And balancing the pump, filled with oil, while attaching the hose is a pain. Not to mention that the oil will start to leak out the outflow side if you aren't fast enough. Not exactly ideal in a home environment.
For this price point, this unit SHOULD be self-priming. There are pumps out there claiming to be self priming for less money than this.
But, all in all, I'm happy with the product. It has functioned flawlessly. It is easy to store out of the way in my small apartment. It has made changing water in my grow room a much less time intensive operation.
And, if you've read this far, the pump arrived 3 days earlier than predicted when I purchased it. I've had no need to contact any type of customer support, which is the best type of customer support.

I needed a pump to pump excess water out of a french drain in my backyard. While I was looking for a somewhat larger pump, the Flotec pump worked really great. It's lightweight and very easy to store. I'm very pleased!

Fantastic Little Pump!

I purchased this potable "transfer" pump due to an emergency caused by a very high water table due to huge rains and a flooded basement, which never flooded before. This pump just works! I had it running for 48 hours and it just hummed along spewing out the water. They are not available locally, ordered on line and they arrived quickly. I wish the rebuild kits were available locally. A true kick a** portable pump.
