Haven't had an opportunity to use the generator hookup yet other than to test. Real happy with the kit so far.

Good product

This is the second one of this type that I've purchased. The first was for my previous house and the 30 Amp version, which I was happy with. This kit is very complete and has everything you need with the exception of any conduit and cable you need for the power inlet box, plus the 100 amp breaker for the main panel. Everything is good quality. The bus bars in the panel are copper. The 10 ft extension cable is of good quality. This panel is a great size for a small home. Mine is a double wide mobile home on the water and I am powering everything except for the heat pump, electric range and washer/dryer, none of which I need in a power outage emergency. A nice feature is the panel comes with auxiliary panel lugs, so I am going to use them for a small utility shed panel that will house some items that I need to keep powered during outages. Overall, a great product. If I had one gripe, it would be that the power inlet box is small. I had a pretty long run so used AWG 4 wire and it is a little bit of a hassle getting the wire in the box. Another inch or so on box height would make it perfect.

AMAZING GENERATOR!

I purchased this generator with the 50-amp transfer kit about 4 weeks ago. Everything was just installed yesterday, just in time for Hurricane Sandy which is expected to arrive tonight here in NY.
First of all I think this was a great price for this model, along with free shipping and no sales tax. I cannot believe how quickly this generator arrived (my order was placed on Thursday & arrived on Monday). The shipping company was excellent and the driver was super nice- he helped me put it in my garage.
I used an ATV jack to lift it for the install of the wheels (an extra set of muscles would have been nice, but I did fine). My buddy advised me to purchase the 50-amp transfer switch since it was made by Generac and made for this machine. He installed the panel for me and the inlet box with no problems.
I own a 2000 square ft home and was able to power the entire house. This machine is a beast- it is heavy and kinda loud but it's worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to power their whole house without spending $10k or more for a stand-alone unit.
Also, this is a great company to buy from. They really know their stuff and their prices are great!
