Good value and everything works properly. Much better power and speed than I had expected. I was surprised and disappointed when I discovered there was NO Engine Oil included. Plus, there is NO Shallow Water drive feature — NONE !!! I did get good, prompt service from PED.

Honda was in stock, called and verified that there were 3 left. Placed an order, and it arrived 3 days later. Incredible, and the motor is great. Only little thing was, I think that would make it better is making the power cables longer, so they can reach the front of a boat. Also, it's expensive as.. but you get what you pay for. If anything changes, I'll update but so far, so good.

Installed the 9.9 HP Honda on an old 14 foot Jon boat. Plenty of speed for 2 adults. Went with the electric start version, and the motor starts like a champ and runs smooth. Certificate of origin comes about a week after delivery.

I'm in my mid 70's, and the old 1974 Mercury pull start was getting too much for me. It ran well, but I had a hard time starting it. A friend of mine has a 9.9 Honda electric like this one. He let me use his last summer, and I fell in love with it. It was late in the season when I ordered this one. I only have had it on the water once. Then the lake froze over. I won't be able to use it until spring. But the one time I used it, it is everything I had hoped for. Honda makes good products. I only wish I had ordered it sooner. I look forward to spring.

I purchased this motor to replace an older one. It starts great every time and it's a very quiet runner. It has plenty of power. We ordered it on Monday, and had it by Friday! We love it and will definitely use Honda boat motors in the future.

I purchased this motor as a replacement for my 1972 Johnson 9.9 motor. I expected the newer Honda motor would be vastly superior. That is not the case. In almost every measurable category, the Honda couldn't keep up no matter the trim settings. I tried them all. Top Speed is less than half that of the Johnson motor. The Honda is so slow in fact, that it is unable to get on plane. In comparison, the Johnson motor had no problem quickly getting on plane. The maneuverability of the Honda is lacking so much it's hard to believe this is the same HP rating as the Johnson.

The Honda four stroke is solid. Thought the speed would be better for my 12' semi V aluminum. The motor doesn't like an empty boat. It actually planes easier with weight distributed and not empty. Feel like I'll run this motor for a long long time. The price is a little rich for the small HP. I really enjoy the push button start and easy forward/reverse lever.
