Husqvarna 235E Reviews & Ratings
235 /240

I got two of these saws, for a safety bonus from work. Good little saws, hard to start some times when warm, it depends on the angles you hold the saw. I adjusted the carb, seems to run great. I run a 16" bar on it with a skip tooth chain the saw performs well for size. I've cut some big wood with it. It takes a while, but can and will if you know what you're doing.

Great little chain saw

I purchased a Husqvarna 235E two years ago after giving up on electric chain saws. As a home owner, the 235E is the perfect saw. It cuts trees up to 20" with ease. Anything smaller than 20" the saw cuts through like a hot knife through warm butter. If the time comes, I'd buy another 235E.

Bought saw at a large 'box store', started up and ran great for 1 tank of fuel, after that first tank I could not get the saw to refire. Brought saw to a local dealer to get it fixed. After 2 weeks called to check on saw, they did not look at it yet. After 2 more weeks called again and was told there was nothing wrong with it, picked saw up and was unable to get it started and slip gaurd on chain was missing, Called the dealer to complain and was told gaurd was never on saw and if I want it fixed I should bring it back to where it was bought, a large box store with no service department. Brought saw to another dealer and same thing, a month with nothing being done. Called a freind of mine who is a logger in northern Wisconsin and he gave me his Husqvarna reps phone #. This person was very nice and he gave me the # for my area rep. All this jerk wanted to know is how I got his phone # and would not even discuss my saw issues untill I told him, which I didn't and so again nothing was done. At last I called the rep back in Northern WI. and he set it up for me to exchange the saw for a new one at yet another local husqvarna dealer. Word of the wise, buy your next saw from a local dealer, pay the extra $$ so you can get service WHEN you need it. At least the second saw runs great!

Could be me but this saw was way under-powered and the 'tool less tensioner' stinks. It wiggles itself loose after 12 or so cuts and I even lost the chain twice in a day. I under bought with this unit for my needs but as far as I'm concerned its not worth having.

Chain Trouble
By Kent
Lone Camp, Texas
Review Posted 12/30/2011
Two of us out here in Lone Camp Texas have bought this 235E, 16 inch chain saw and had great success with it until the original chain wore out on each of the saws. At different times, we were both told by Tractor Supply folks (that's where we purchased them) that the "other" chain would work fine. NOTE to all the 235E takes a different chain with fewer teeth. Even though a standard 16 inch chain will fit, it most certainly doesn't perform!

Recommend Husqvarna emphasize this with all of it's distributors. The saw performs well but we, the users will probably not buy this product again because of the chain issues!

Regards,
Kent
