Having installed the factory mulch kit on my Husky zero turn, overall I'm happy except for the rear attachment hold-down spring. Very easy to pop it off if you brush up against a fence post or other obstacle. Could be engineered better.

After a 10-month supply chain delay, this mulch kit finally arrived. It seems to be well designed and built. It was very easy to install and seems to work well. I tested it by mowing my lawn and several neighbors' lawns. No one has complained about the cut quality.

This kit is unique to the Z254F's 54" ClearCut™ deck.
Easy install, after you get the OEM installed blades off. The OEM blades these replace are over-torqued on. Had to use my high torque impact driver to remove the OEM install. The required torque is significantly less than the arm-breaking OEM torque applied. Pay attention to torque requirements.

Install was relatively easy. I used it twice, and each time it would leave a line of grass behind the mower on the ejection port side. In the middle of the second use, something punched a half-dollar-sized hole right through the ejection port cover, and I was only on grass.

The grass clumps very badly, particularly in the turns. I have a large yard (close to an acre), and I can’t mow the entire thing without having to clean the deck. I could rake in less time.
