So Far So Good

Since purchasing this snow blower, we have only had a couple of inches of snow, so I haven't had a chance to give it a good workout, but so far it's a great unit. I just need to get used to the steering.

Unpacked and assembled with no major problems. The directions were almost worthless, with the blurry diagrams and sketches. The fact that they were the size of a map didn't make reading them any easier. The major issue: with drive linkage being assembled from the factory was inoperable. They had wrapped the spring connection under the control arm locking it up. The unit would not go into forward or reverse. The pin at the control sleeve can be removed along with the linkage attached to the top of the control arm. Once corrected, unit operated very well. I cleared about a foot of frozen, wet snow, and the blower blew it all through. At one point it almost got clogged with mud and started kicking out frozen blocks instead of snow, but it never jammed or bogged down. Electric start is nice, but really not needed as the unit starts first or second pull with ease. The controls are straight forward and the hydrostatic transmission is a big bonus. This unit provides great value as the Honda costs almost twice the amount.

Transmission Stops Working
By Pete L

After this snowblower is warmed up, the hydrostatic transmission moves slower and slower until it will NOT move at all. I have taken into the dealer twice now and they don't know what is wrong with it. I have talked to husqvarna directly and they won't discuss anything about it. They just say take it to an authorized dealer. The dealers don't want to work on it because they say I didn'tt purchase from an authorized Dealership, and they would not get paid for the warranty work. I now have it in for the 3rd time at a different dealership and I am hoping for a cure. This will be the 3rd season with the problem. I paid $1,600 and also costs for diagnosis with NO REMEDY. Don't believe Snowblowers direct when they say you can get warranty work done for free. This is not true, at least in the area where I live. I have owned other Husqvarna products and have not had this kind of trouble. What a waste of money!

Solid snowblower, will last for many years

We bought this snow blower because of the hydrostatic transmission and electric start. The unit's operation is great & the engine is bulletproof. This thing really throws the snow a long ways.
The electric start is cool. It is a 120v unit and you plug it into an extension cord. No battery to maintain.
I would buy this again.

BUILT BETTER THAN ARIENS for close to the same price
By Brandon L.

The engines are made by the same company the housing is much thicker compared to a similar price " other" snowblower, you get much more for your dollar. Gets the new hydro-static drive that is close to maintenance-free.
The auger is a one piece Steel not a couple pieces welded together. The shoot is also thick. Cast iron gear case and impeller. I didn't think the engine was as powerful as I needed / wanted but the snowblower throws snow very far. I bought this snowblower to last me a long time and because of all the reasons up above I believe it will.

As a few others had cited - there is a problem with the spring for the clutch lever. After assembly, which was very simple, the blower started on the second pull. However, when attempting to engage the transmission - it failed to engage. After re-connecting above the return spring - the blower engaged flawlessly.
Looking forward to the first snow to test it against the 800 foot drive in front of it.

The first time I used the machine was during the blizzard on Long Island earlier this month. It was so powerful we took a little time to get used to working with it. This machine is the perfect size and power to deal with large amounts of snow in tight places.

Quality Machine but....

VERY IMPORTANT - The spring for the clutch lever (left handle on machine) that engages the transmission is being installed incorrectly from the factory. It needs to be over hooked above the return spring and both units I received came with the spring under hooked and would not move when engaging the transmission. I also read a few other reviews describing the same problem but they never explained in detail.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to use it yet due to no snow yet but felt the need to get this out there to any potential purchasers. The Machine does start right up every time I've had to move it and there's next to no handle vibration which is why I replaced my 1978 Craftsman Trac Drive 28" snow thrower. I'll update or leave another review after using it. Good Luck!

Ordered mid-day Monday, shipped before end of day. Were it not for the New Years holiday it would have arrived on Friday. Delivered on Monday in perfect condition. Five Stars to Snow Blowers Direct.com.
The ST327P has all of the features I was looking for as standard equipment. No need to pay extra for shear bolts, drift cutters, composite shoes, or heated grips. And the hydrostatic drive, wow.
Assembly is a piece of cake. Engine started on the third pull. Moved out into the three inches of snow that fell overnight, and the ST327P hardly noticed it was there. Then moved on into the 14 inches from the last storm, and was thoroughly impressed with ALL of the features that drew me to this model. Trigger steering, Hydrostatic drive, heated grips, easy access chute controls. This brute walked through the deep snow easier than my old model would move a few inches.
Very happy with my choice of brand and model. Extremely pleased with the service and follow through of SnowBlowersDirect.com
