Husqvarna (61") Zero Turn Triple Bagger w/ Blower (Fits MZ Models w/ 61" Fabricated Deck)

I paid $1,181.59 to Mower’s Direct, online, on 5/16/2023. Order number LMD3481739. When it broke the first time I used it, I contacted the seller. They refused to stand behind the $1200 piece of cheap junk they sold me. I have had the opportunity to use this piece of junk 5 times in 3 months. The rest of the time it’s been broken and / or in for warranty service.
I have 8 acres to mow. I mow for 30-60 minutes each night after work. I wanted the bagger so my property wouldn’t look like a hay field.
First, it is a generic bagger made in China. Says right on it: “NoBrand”.
Assembly: Instructions are for multiple baggers. They don’t tell you which instructions are for which models (they don’t list the models). You will waste considerable time trying to figure out why the instructions won’t work for your mower. I even had to trim a piece of plastic to get it to fit my mower.
Quality: There is none. It’s all cheap, flimsy plastic parts. When I put it together, one piece came apart immediately. Another part has since cracked. A third part has bent to the point it is almost useless now, and soon will need to be replaced. The belt has burnt through twice now, trying to push grass up a clogged chute. The little red wheel that is supposed to spin to indicate grass is moving through the chute doesn’t spin. That’s because the grass isn’t moving.
Operation: I have to stop every few minutes to disconnect the chute and clear grass from it and the blower. Eventually the belt burns through because it’s trying to push grass through a clogged chute.
Support: Non-existent. I’ve been talking to Husqvarna chat online now for 3 months. That’s the only support you can get. After the chat is over you won’t hear from them again unless / until you start a new online chat session.
The mowing season is about over. The bagger is in for warranty service again. We have spent about 6 hours to-date loading and unloading the mower to take it with the bagger for service. This time I just sent the bagger so they could replace the broken parts. When I get it back, I will dutifully hook it up and waste about an hour baby-sitting it until it breaks again. Then I’ll take it back for service. Once that is done, it will sit in the barn until next season when it breaks again as soon as I use it. Can you guess what happens then? Warranty is over.

Belt broke first two hours on unit.

I to was looking for a bagger for my MZ61 but the reviews look pretty bad, I review stated the they were designing a new model. Is that true and is it out?

I purchased this attachment in October21 for our Husqvarna MZ61 61" zero turn mower. Assembly was easy and mounting didn't take much time at all. We needed to do a little trimming where the fan housing meets the mower deck, but that was all.

I was only able to use it a couple times last fall, but initially the blower struggled to keep up with the leaves and the chute clogged frequently. As others have said, the bags do fill up quickly with the large mower deck. This spring I started mowing the grass and immediately I had problems with clogging. Heavy grass was the worst, very frustrating. Then , one time when the blower started to clog I noticed the belt didn't seem right. Taking a closer look I realized the blower fan was turning backwards....no wonder it was clogging! I flipped the belt around and holy cow! I now have a 28HP super vac! It works amazing!!!

I'm, admitting this SNAFU because I see many others complaining about the chute getting clogged. The installation manual isn't real clear on routing of the belt. If it turns backwards it will work...but not very good. Spinning in the correct direction and you'll have no issues as all...even in heavy grass. I cut one section this past weekend where the grass was close to 12" tall and the blower took care of it without an issue.

But again....with a large deck those bags do fill up rapidly when cutting heavy grass. I cut about 1.5acres of grass. If you have a large lawn like we do, be prepared to empty them a few times.

The blower itself if very easy to mount to the mower deck. One mounting pint takes care of it all. What is not so easy is installation/removal of the belt guards every time you want to mount or dismount the blower. I wish there was a simpler way do this step as there are times when I don't want to use the bagger...but overall, it's just a convenience issue. It takes a few minutes each time it is installed/removed.

Last note...a word of caution...as the bags get full you add quite a bit of weight to the back of the mower. Be careful when starting out in the forward direction. Push those levers too hard and you'll be doing a wheelie!

First, PED is awesome. It showed up fast. The delivery was a breeze...I really like Ped's customer service. Now for the bagger. It "almost" fits, keep a dead blow hammer handy to get it on the deck. So taking it off and on takes 8-9 mins...with the hammer. If the grass is short, it picks up great. With a MZ61, 5 foot deck, those three bags fill up fast. The bags are a breeze to empty though, so no biggie.

HOWEVER, if you are cutting anything over say 4 inches, that thing sucks. You have to stop every freaking 3 feet and take the tube off to pull out all the grass that is stuck. The first time I used it, it took hours to mow a small section with all the stopping. Mowing more frequently has helped, yesterday it didn't clog once. So it works well, I'm happy enough with it...but it can be a pain.

The bottom section with the blower doesn’t fit as nice as I’d like or should and plugs up frequently and a pain to clean out all the time.

I wasn't going to buy a bagger, but the price on Mower's Direct was half of what the local store wanted so I did....

First, don't spend the $65 on the lift gate as you can pick up the box. Next, I had to modify the mounting bracket on the grass discharge which holds the fan. Also, the mounting instructions that hold the bags are confusing.

I basically used some common sense and mounted it with enough hardware to hold 150 lbs. Finally, the rubber shroud the discharge tube penetrates is poorly fastened. Be prepared to add some sheet metal screws around the perimeter.
