This is my Third 14KW Generator. I have owned this particular generator for 8 years. I service the unit myself annually using OEM Kohler products. I replace the battery every three years. My son just installed a new Kohler 14KW in his home. I always recommend Kohler.

Use this a back-up power with solar power as the primary energy source. The solar system has proven unreliable while working out the kinks but the 14RESA has been a champ. Only improvement I could recommend is a video showing how to connect the generator through solar inverters (both with transfer switch function built in and external controller).

This isn't so much a review for the generator as it is for EGD. I was very happy with how they handled the order, confirmation and shipping. I got the generator exactly when promised and it was in perfect condition. I would definitely buy from here again. As far as the Kohler goes, I probably would have bought a Champion but the electrician put a Kohler switch on the house when it was built so we had little choice but to go with this unit. Overall, I expect them all to perform about the same.

Does not work. Can start it, but the battery does not charge, goes dead. Put a jumper on it and the generator starts--but then it quits after you remove the jumper. No customer support help from either Electric Generators or Kohler you're on your own.

This new generator was in operation for 14 days (yes days)... Inside and outside of generator covered with oil. No "real" help with this situation.
Now I am left with having to either wait months for a service call or buy another generator.
