Manufacturer Review
Best booster pump - Residential and light commerical
By Steve Frappier

Review Posted 03/30/2015
The Inline 400 is our newest booster pump in the Little Giant family. The pump inside this booster is a tried and true 3-stage multiple impeller Pump Motor Assembly (PMA) that has been in the market for several years from our parent company, Franklin Electric. So feel confident that you are using a product by the leader in electric motor and pump industry.
There are some great advantages to the Inline 400 over most of the competition out there today.
Ease of operation and installation:
+ Runs when you are using water, not when you aren't
+ Can be mounted vertically or horizontally
+ Slim footprint with heavy duty mounting bracket that can be swiveled to mount in multiple ways
+ Simple one button operation and LED light indicators
Quiet operation:
+ 56db peak level
+ PMA is surrounded by water to help reduce the sound levels from the pump
We have had great success with the launch of this product, with home-owners and contractors speaking very highly about this product. We have used them in residential and light commercial applications like a Starbucks, and commercial office spaces.

FInally Got It Installed

Bought this pump back in August, but didn't have time to get it installed until October. Had to dig up the driveway and re-route my spring line in a different way (nothing to do with pump, preparing to concrete driveway), and do some other changes.
Plumbed the pump in per directions, parallel to incoming spring line so with a flip of a couple valves, I can switch back to just the spring pressure isolating out the pump should that become necessary down the road.
Pressure is great ! Spring pressure (gravity feed) was only 25psi, which we have lived with for long time, but outlet side of the pump is 80 psi. Shower blows us away now !
Only slight complaint is the hum of the pump. It's located in the basement directly below the master bath, and I can hear it "hummmm" while in the shower thru the pipes. But within a few seconds of exiting the shower, it cuts off. The upside is if someone flushes the toilet, you don't lose your shower like before.
Also, if you had low pressure like we did before, you might watch for leaks/etc from fixtures. One of our toilets blew the little plastic fill line in the tank off to one side (the line that fills the bowl), and I had to re-attach it.
Overall, we've very pleased with this pump.

We have a gravity fed spring water system. Pressure has always been less than ideal (like 25PSI), but we've lived with it a long time.
Saw this pump at the Mother Earth News fair in Asheville,NC this past spring, and got interested. Looks like a simple install.
Unfortunately, mine is still in the box (but it's a NICE box....ahahahaa) because I haven't had time to get it installed yet. Going to do some major changing around with my piping in the basement (nothing to do with the pump), and I'm waiting on a time when I can do it all.
