Reznor UDAP-45 Gas Fired Unit Heater is a 115 volt, gas fired unit heater designed to provide efficient heating. Reznor UDAP-45 uses a single burner combustion system to provide a 37,000 BTU/hr. output with an 82-83% thermal efficiency. UDAP-45 provides a 50-60 F rise range. UDAP models use an integrated circuit board with diagnostic indicator lights to control heater operation. External gas connection allows for easy gas service connection. Reznor UDAP-45 can be suspended from either 2 or 4 suspension points or ceiling mounted with an optional hanger kit. UDAP-45 provides improved efficiency and easier installation over previous Reznor models.

Great Little Unit

First unit I got was dropped by the shipper! I refused the unit, called and a new one arrived soon after. Unless you've messed with these before (or are very handy) get someone else to install it.
If you order a Natural Gas unit and need propane you will have to put in a conversion kit. This requires adjusting the gas pressure with a manometer.
You will need to mount the unit up high, run propane line, low voltage thermostat, 120V and run special exhaust.
For my shop (24x24x14 peak well insulated with double doors) this unit will raise the temperature from 40 to 60 in a bit over 30 minutes. Maybe even 45 minutes. A better thought might to be have run a 60K.

I would never go into garage in the winter. Too cold. Totally recommend this heater. Turn t stat to 75. Grab a coffee. 5-10 mins later. I’m in a tshirt getting my surf/fishing gear ready for the spring!!!! Thank you Reznor

There are less expensive units from other manufacturers, but in this case you clearly get what you pay for. According to the BTU calculator, I only required 20k BTU for my detached garage. I upsized from 30k BTU to 45k BTU, because - why not? Cost difference was only $60.
I'm glad I did. Installation was straight-forward and I'm pleased with the performance.
Installation: Service line is 3/4" black iron pipe to 1/2" CSST to unit (with proper grounding).
Install time: 24 hours (includes gas lines, framing above ceiling for all thread, new 120V electric circuit and thermostat + wire, and 4" vent pipe through wall)

You get what you pay for! The heater is high quality, performs great! It heats my 2 car garage up super quick in the heart of Minnesota winter. It was easy to install and the heater is quiet compared to other models. I would highly recommend this heater to anyone!
