Reading through one of the previous Q&As, you wrote that the check valve is generally installed about 1/2 - 2/3 up the vertical section of the discharge line (assuming 5'-10' vertical section). Why so high? I've seen a few installations where the check valve is right near the base of the line. Don't know which way is better.

What are the dimensions of this check valve, both with and without the rubber connection parts installed? The current specifications read only "L x 1-1/2"W x H"
