BE X-2050FW1A Wall-Mount Pressure Washer

For a well-built unit that packs a punch, I highly recommend the BE X-2050FW1A wall-mount pressure washer. Shooting out 2,000 PSI of water pressure at a 3.5 GPM flow rate, it's the cream of the crop for heavy, frequent washing needs in auto shops, factories, and other commercial jobs tied to a specific location.

How We Picked the Best Wall-Mount Pressure Washers

When recommending wall-mount pressure washers, we take four features into account.

Durability

Wall-mount pressure washers are permanently installed to handle specific, regular jobs day in and day out, like washing cars. They need to be able to hold up to these high washing demands. That's why, when it comes to durability, the first thing I look at is motor and pump performance. There should be features that protect and help the unit run cool so that it can go the distance. Furthermore, safety features like auto stop-start and temperature sensors are essential for protecting the pressure washer from overheating.

Beyond this, I look at the pressure washer's construction. How sturdy is the frame? What materials make up the hose, valves, and other components? If installed outside, is the unit protected from the elements? I only recommend pressure washers that are built to last.

Usability

Using your pressure washer should be as simple and frictionless as possible. This is where I look at anything that makes life easier for you, the user.

Let's start with quick-connect fittings. They literally make it a snap to connect your hose, spray gun, and tips, saving you the time and hassle of dealing with threaded fittings. Next, what are your options when using the pressure washer? An auto start-stop feature is great because you don't have to worry about your pump overheating when you release the trigger.

Speaking of the trigger, is it insulated for enhanced comfort? An ergonomically designed trigger will reduce fatigue during long periods of pressure washing. Finally, how accessible is the unit from a maintenance perspective, and is onboard storage available for the spray gun and hose?

Versatility

It may seem strange to look at versatility, given that wall-mount pressure washers can't be moved anywhere once affixed to the wall. In this case, versatility refers to how adaptable the pressure washer is to different needs where you have it installed.

I believe the ability to adjust pressure is the most important versatility feature on any pressure washer. You just can't put a price on being able to raise or lower the water pressure to match what you're cleaning. After all, overly high pressure can destroy delicate surfaces, while too low pressure won't clean tough dirt.

Sometimes, you need soap to clean specific stains. A wall-mount pressure washer with siphon tube injection gives you that option without fuss. Other versatility features may include hose length, power cord length, physical dimensions, and more. Overall, anything that expands the way you can use your pressure washer earns extra points from me.

Overall Value

You get what you pay for. Sure, there are cases when you can get a great deal on a quality pressure washer, but it usually costs money and resources for manufacturers to make their product “the best.”

That’s why I don’t exclusively consider price when determining value. It’s a factor, but not the most important one. I'm most interested in whether the pressure washer is worth the price. Do its durability, usability, and versatility features justify the purchase? This is also where I consider the warranty and where the pressure washer is made.

Wall-Mount Pressure Washer FAQs

What is a Wall-Mount Pressure Washer?

Wall-mount pressure washers are permanently installed on a wall-mounted shelf near your work site. They are perfect for those who wash daily and want to avoid the hassle and wasted time of setting up a portable pressure washer every day. Use cases include auto shops, country clubs, meatpacking facilities, and more.

They have varying electrical requirements. Some (typically 240-volt) models need to be hardwired. Others can be plugged into a 20-amp outlet. All should have a dedicated electrical circuit. Learn more in our wall-mount pressure washer buyer's guide.

What is GPM?

GPM stands for Gallons per Minute and describes "how much" water is produced, or its volume. A pressure washer rated for 4 GPM can produce 4 gallons of pressurized water per minute.

What is PSI?

PSI stands for Pounds per Square Inch and describes the pressure, or force, of water. A pressure washer rated for 1,000 PSI can produce 1,000 pounds of water per square inch.

How Does GPM Relate to PSI?

In the pressure washer world, we multiply a unit's PSI (pressure) and GPM (flow rate) to arrive at cleaning units, which refer to cleaning speed. For example, if two washers produce the same water pressure, but one has a higher flow rate, it will clean faster than the other.

What PSI pressure washer do I need?

It depends on what you want to wash. PSI stands for pounds per square inch and represents the water pressure. Most homeowners will be satisfied with a 1,000-4,000 PSI pressure washer. The higher the pressure, the heavier the dirt you’ll be able to clean, like garage floor stains, paint splotches, and thick mold. Lower PSI pressure washers are often used for surfaces that would otherwise be prone to damage, like brick or stucco exteriors or roof shingles. Heavy-duty commercial pressure washing jobs will require more than 4,000 PSI.

The best pressure washers come with an adjustable PSI setting, so you can adapt the pressure to your application. Learn more about selecting the right PSI pressure washer in our pressure washer buyer’s guide.

What GPM pressure washer do I need?

The flow rate (GPM) is just as important as the water pressure (PSI). When cleaning delicate surfaces like wood fences or cars covered in bird waste, an overly high pressure could cause damage. In those cases, you can compensate with a higher flow rate pressure washer. The higher GPMs will clean effectively through the sheer volume of water sprayed on the surface, also known as rinsing power. Generally speaking, most residential users will need a flow rate of 1-3 GPM, while most commercial users will need a minimum of 3.5-4 GPM.

Can you run a pressure washer without water?

Never run your pressure washer when it’s not connected to a water source. The motor and pump need water flowing to stay cool. Without that flow, they’ll overheat and fail prematurely, forcing you to buy a new pressure washer.

What’s more, avoid leaving your pressure washer on when not squeezing the trigger. Pressure will build up inside the pump and hose, leading to overheating and excessive wear and tear. Although some of the best pressure washers have bypass capability that helps circulate water and delay overheating and/or a thermal relief valve, this has its limits.

In short, always be running water through your pressure washer and gun. If you need to stop working, turn off the engine!
